Privacy Policy
Effective date: 27 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the List2Cart Android app ("List2Cart", "the App"), published by AniApps ("we", "our", "us"), handles information when you use it.
- You don't need an account. Your shopping lists are stored on your phone.
- If you choose to share a list with family by link, you sign in with Google and that list is stored online so they can see it and tick items.
- Items you add yourself (and an optional photo) are sent to us to improve the product catalog.
- We use Google Firebase to understand app usage and fix crashes, and to measure how well our own List2Cart ads on Google work.
- No ads inside the App, no location tracking, and we never sell your data.
1. Information stored only on your phone
Your shopping lists, quantities, notes and history are saved in the App's private storage on your device. We do not receive them. If you share a list as text or an image, it goes only to the app or person you choose. Shops you save under "My Shops" (name, WhatsApp number and optional photo) are also stored only on your phone; when you send a list to a shop, it opens WhatsApp with the list typed for you. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data deletes this information from your phone.
2. Information sent to us
a. Items you add yourself
When an item is not in our catalog and you use "Add your own item", we receive:
- the item name, quantity and note you entered;
- the photo, if you choose to add one (taken with the camera or picked from your gallery);
- the App version and a random ID created when the App is installed (not your name, phone number or device ID).
We use this only to review and improve the List2Cart catalog (for example, adding commonly requested products). It is not used for advertising and is not linked to your identity. We keep it only as long as needed for that review.
b. Family sharing (optional account)
Sharing a list by link is optional. To use it, you sign in with your Google account. We then receive:
- your name, email address and profile photo link from Google;
- the lists you choose to share as a live link: list name, item names, quantities, notes, catalog item images, and which items are ticked;
- which shared lists you have opened, and who ticked which item.
A shared list can be seen by anyone who has its link, so share it only with people you trust. People who open it in the app see your first name and can tick items; only you can change the list. Photos you added to your own items stay on your phone and are not uploaded. Your other lists stay on your phone.
Shared lists are deleted automatically 10 days after their last update (an edit or a tick). You can also stop sharing a list at any time (Share → Stop sharing), which deletes its online copy right away. You can delete your account in the app (Menu → Delete account) or as described at list2cart.in/delete-account.html; this deletes your account and all lists you shared.
c. Product catalog
The App downloads the product catalog from our server. This request does not include personal information, although our hosting provider may process your IP address to deliver it.
d. Usage and crash information
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to fix problems. They collect information such as app interactions, device model, operating system version, app instance identifiers, a device identifier, and crash logs. This information helps us improve the App.
We also link Firebase Analytics to Google Ads, which we use to advertise List2Cart. This lets Google measure which of our ads lead to installs and to people actually using the App (for example, adding their first item), and helps Google show our ads to people likely to find the App useful. It does not include your lists, item names, photos or shop details. The App itself shows no ads, and we do not sell your information. You can limit ad personalisation in your Google account settings or reset your phone's advertising ID in Android settings.
3. Permissions
- Camera – only when you choose to take a photo of an item you are adding.
- Microphone – only when you tap the microphone for voice search. Speech is converted to text by your phone's speech recognition service (usually Google) and the App only receives the recognized text.
- Photos – when you choose "Choose from gallery", Android's photo picker gives the App access only to the single photo you select.
- Contacts picker – when adding a shop under "My Shops", you can pick a WhatsApp number from your contacts. Android's contact picker gives the App only the one number you select; the App does not read your contact list and the number is not sent to us.
- Internet – to download the catalog and send the information described above.
The App does not access your location, your contact list, or files beyond what is described here.
4. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with service providers that run the App for us:
- Supabase – hosts the product catalog, the items you add, sign-in accounts and shared lists (Supabase Privacy Policy).
- Google Sign-In – lets you sign in with your Google account for family sharing.
- Google Firebase and Google Ads – analytics, crash reporting and measuring our own ads (Google Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from apps).
We may also disclose information if required by law.
Links to other services. Some options open other apps or websites, for example Menu → How to use opens our demo video on YouTube, and sending a list to a shop opens WhatsApp. These open in the YouTube or WhatsApp app (or your browser); the App does not play the video itself and does not send your lists or personal information to YouTube. Your use of those services is governed by their own privacy policies, such as the Google Privacy Policy for YouTube.
5. Data security
Information sent from the App is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Items and photos you add can be read only by us, not by other users. A shared list can be read only by its owner, people who have its link, and us. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
6. Your choices
- Adding photos and notes is optional.
- You can deny or revoke the camera and microphone permissions at any time in your phone's settings; the rest of the App keeps working.
- Signing in and sharing lists is optional. You can stop sharing a list or delete your account at any time in the App.
- You can turn off ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com, or delete or reset your advertising ID in your phone's settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- To ask about or request deletion of information you submitted, contact us at the email below.
7. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
